I'll be updating this journal every day or so as I add a handful more pictures.

I've been to my native place in Kerala for the past two weeks, near the southern tip of the Indian Peninsula. It was an enjoyable trip, and I'll leave it at that for now. Everytime I go there I can't help but be struck by the overflowing green. It's so wet with the rains, and the humidity can often be unpleasant to anybody not used to it. But, for me it feels like home. I can even breathe far easier there, sit on the beach and listen to the waves and feel the breeze rather than sit on a pavement and be bombarded by car-horns and bursts of exhaust fumes or dust.

It's a place I can go to. Far away. Far enough to feel safe when I'm there and when I'm not it seems impossibly distant. Everywhere you look you see something stir.
